8 august 2010 - Reißeck-Höhenbahn, Seenplateau-Berghotel Reißeck. The photo was taken from the top of the inclined plane connecting the lower and the upper parts of the railway. From here the train looks like a toy. A photo taken from down looking up is available here.

Is this possible, that small locomotive without rack rail can climb upstairs, on track visible on the left?

At the high end of the inclined plane there is a hoist that can pull up with its rope the freight cars that must be shipped on the upper level of the railway. In similar way, the hoist is used to keep an adeguate low speed for the cars heading down. Later I'll upload one or two pictures about the inclined plane in the infrastructure section (but without any cars on it).
