Lokomotywa to zmodyfikowana seria BB36000 SNCF, a tak naprawdę to jest to rozwinięcie serii BB26000. Luksemburska 3001 przeszła do historii podobnie jak 1308 i 1318 które po wypadkach zostały zezłomowane.
